Heat Discomfort:

Traditional Sunshades:

    Why I invented bittaSHADE

Beam Away, LLC is a veteran- and woman-owned company dedicated to creating smarter, simpler sun protection solutions that help people stay cool, comfortable, and safe outdoors.
As someone who loves spending time outdoors, I grew frustrated with the constant search for shade. Whether at the beach, pool, water park, sporting event, or resort, the best shady spots were often already taken, and traditional shade solutions were bulky, inconvenient, or simply didn't provide protection where I needed it most. I knew there had to be a smarter, simpler way to stay cool, comfortable, and protected while enjoying the outdoors, so I set out to invent one.

What began as a solution for comfort became something much more personal. Two years into my startup journey, I was diagnosed with multiple skin cancers. That experience reinforced the importance of protecting ourselves from damaging UV exposure and strengthened my determination to bring bittaSHADE to market.

Today, our mission is simple: to help people enjoy more time outdoors with greater comfort, confidence, and protection. Every bittaSHADE is thoughtfully designed to provide instant relief from heat and glare while helping protect the face, head, and neck from the sun's harmful rays.

Don't chase the shade. SHADE the chaise!
